UX Research & Usability Testing: Make Decisions with Evidence
Interviews, surveys, and usability tests that turn guesses into confident design decisions
What you'll learn
- Choose the right research method for the question you're actually trying to answer
- Plan and run user interviews that surface real insight, not polite agreement
- Design surveys that produce trustworthy data
- Run moderated and unmoderated usability tests and spot the real problems
- Synthesise findings into personas, journey maps, and clear recommendations
- Communicate research so it actually changes what the team builds
Skills you'll gain
About this course
Great design isn't guesswork — it's evidence. This course teaches you to gather that evidence: how to run UX research that tells you what users truly need, and usability testing that reveals where your product is failing them. It's for designers, product people, and founders who want to stop debating opinions and start deciding with data. You'll learn to match method to question — when to interview, when to survey, when to test — because using the wrong method is the most common (and expensive) research mistake. You'll plan and run user interviews that get past polite answers, design surveys that don't mislead you, and conduct both moderated and unmoderated usability tests to find the friction real users hit. Then comes the part that creates value: synthesis — turning raw notes into personas, journey maps, and recommendations a team can act on — and communicating it so it actually influences the roadmap. Some familiarity with product or design helps. By the end you'll be able to run a full research study and turn it into decisions the whole team trusts.
